- Escuela de Aprendizaje Colaborativo: Pilot Study (Chile) – SUMMA
In the context of Latin America, educators often work in isolation, without establishing spaces for professional reflection and continuous learning. The programme Escuela de Aprendizaje Colaborativo (EAC) aims to incorporate collaborative learning into schools as a teaching approach to improve students’ achievement in Chile.
The programme is structured into two stages: Firstly, an initial teacher training phase (year 1) that includes thematical sessions and the creation of an Aprendizaje Colaborativo project to be implemented at each teacher’s respective school. Subsequently, during the second year, teachers implement their project with continuous implementation support and feedback.
El Centro de Investigación para la Transformación SocioEducativa (CITSE) designed a pilot evaluation of the second stage of the programme during the 2022/23 academic year. The evaluation team employed a mixed-methods sequential research design to assess the implementation of 30 projects across 31 settings.
Results will become publicly accessible in December 2023.
This study is commissioned and managed by SUMMA as part of the Fondo Impacto EDU-LAC and has been funded by the Education Endowment Foundation, in partnership with the BHP Foundation, as part of the “Building a global evidence ecosystem for teaching” project.
